The MAC 217 Dupe

If you haven't heard of the MAC 217 brush, you're missing out! I am a big lover of makeup tools, especially brushes, whether its for face or eyes I seem to have far more than I need.

MAC brushes aren't cheap, ranging from around £15 all the way to £30+ they're definitely a treat or something for the Christmas list in my eyes. But price aside, their brushes are definitely worth paying that little extra, the quality is fantastic and they are nice to have, however, if you're on a budget there are some extremely good dupes or alternatives.

217 is a fluffy medium sized brush, it is used mostly for blending but can also apply shadow, cream or powder and be used for concealer. I personally find myself using it mostly for cream eyeshadow application as it gives such a flawless finish.

Crown Brush have a brush called the C433 Pro Blending Fluff, an absolutely identical brush, the same size, density and colour with an identical look and feel. I picked this brush up at a beauty show a year or so ago, and it is still going strong and I find myself using it most days, actually in place of the 217. Both of these blend eyeshadow effortlessly but really, if you're not that bothered about owning a MAC brush, this will work for you. The bristles are super soft, not scratchy on the skin at all which is a pretty important factor when working around the eye area.

The 217 comes in at a pricey £19.00 whereas the C433 Pro Blending Fluff is just £6.09 which is a pretty big difference and you could have three of these for the price of one by MAC. I honestly cannot find any difference between the two brushes, they are so similar and if you were to blindfold me and ask me which was which, I don't think I'd be able to tell. Of course the 217 is beautiful and a fantastic brush to have in your collection, but the Crown Brush dupe is just as good and does the job!

Have you tried the 217? Or do you have a dupe?
