Makeup Academy Haul

Last week whilst browsing the wonderful land of Twitter, I saw a tweet from Makeup Academy saying they had a 35% off sale, hell yeah. I've not purchased much from the brand that recently due to my local Superdrug being total rubbish at keeping the shelves stocked, and the fact that the MUA counter is tiny. I popped on over to the website to check out what was in the sale and I er ended up with a few bits in the basket!

12 Shade Glamour Days Palette £2.60
A fantastic array of bright colours mixed with a few neutrals, I was really lacking colour in my collection and with Spring on the horizon I wanted to prepare myself for some beautiful makeup looks, in particular I love the green shade and I can't wait to try it on the lash line.

Undress Your Skin Highlighting Palette £1.95
I've actually had this before, but it smashed because I am the clumsiest person on the planet! I really did like this and I hadn't repurchased it purely because I already have 100 other highlighters but as there was a sale and this was reduced to £ 1.95 I sort of couldn't resist!

Pressed Powder £0.65
I picked up the £1 bronzer a few months ago and although I do love it, the shade is a little too dark for me. I've heard people talking about the pressed powder in shade 4 and how it is a beautiful bronzer for more pale skinned girls, so I grabbed that and I love the look of the colour so far.

Lipstick £0.65
MUA Lipsticks are very popular, I'm not sure I know a blogger who hasn't tried one?! Costing just £1 they really are an absolute bargain, with a few already in my collection I went for the shades 'persian rose' and tulip' both beautiful shades of pink.

False Eyelashes £1.00
I very rarely wear flash eyelashes, purely because I'm useless and I always worry they're going to fall off! But I wanted to pick some up to use in a tutorial so I thought I would try these as they look pretty natural and have a surprisingly thin band for just £1.00.

Elysium Palette £3.90
From what I've seen and heard, this is a dupe for the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette, which is stunning and I absolutely adore. I'm not really sure why I picked this up, I really want to compare the two and it is nice to have a more affordable version of the shades, I'm always saving my Naked 3 palette for special occasions only! This palette also comes with a double ended eyeliner which contains a beautiful beige shade that will work wonders on the waterline.

Brow Define Brow Tinted Mascara £1.30
Another brow product, surely not?! Well this caught my eye as it looks similar to the offerings from brands such as Benefit and Rimmel, both products I love. I'm always using brow mascara whether it's to set my brows in place after powder or to use on its own for a more natural look. I picked up the shade medium which will hopefully work for me, fingers crossed!

Eyebrow Pencil £0.65
Oh another brow product, whoops! In the past I have used the MUA eyeliner in dark brown for my brows but I discovered whilst browsing the website that they do sell a proper eyebrow pencil, with a spooly. I love the look of this and the shade brunette looks perfect to match my hair, well in the packaging it does anyway!

Intense Colour Eyeliner Pencil £0.65
The reason for purchasing these more adventourus shades is a little like the palette purchase, I really want to create some colourful makeup looks and these two shades caught my eye. I picked up 'royal blue' which reminds me a lot of a nail varnish I have a love from Nails Inc. Then I grabbed the shade 'berry wine' which looks gorgeous, a beautiful deep purple.

Blusher £0.65
If you've read my blog before you'll have seen my £1 blush post (linked here) where I spoke about the amazing £1 blushes by MUA, I had to pick up a couple more shades to add to my collection. I went for the shades 'lolly' a beautiful coral and 'marshmallow' which is such a bright pink, this one is going to be such fun to play with!

So these are the beauty bits I picked up from MUA, a brand I love and trust which offers such good quality makeup but at such a small cost. What have you tried?
