February Favourites

It's monthly favourites time! February has really been the shortest month ever, it went so fast which means Spring is literally just around the corner. This month I've been loving a few bits of makeup, trying new products is my favourite thing ever and when I fall in love with something, I always want to share that with you. I've been buying so many new products recently, normally I'm so good at saving but recently I've just wanted to buy anything and everything in Boots!
First of all is one of three Makeup Revolution favourites, I honestly cannot recommend this brand enough at the moment, it just gets better and better! I actually received the Makeup Naked Chocolate palette in January and I've been using it non stop, I find myself running to it most days because the shades are so neutral and you can create so many different beautiful looks. The shadows are all super pigmented, creamy and the lasting power is phenomenal and guess what, this palette costs a tiny amount of just £7.99 available from Makeup Revolution and Superdrug.
My two other Makeup Revolution favourites include the Amazing Lipstick in Lady which is the most perfect true red shade ever, I actually love this more than my L'Oreal and Rimmel red lipsticks. The formulation of these is insane, they cost £1.00 and honestly, they are so so so good. If you've tried and like Makeup Academy lipsticks, you'll love these as they're even better. Then we have one of the single eyeshadows which are also just £1.00, this particular shade is called Touch Me and its the most perfect light, creamy white eyeshadow. I use this every single day on my brow bone and inner corner of the eye, its so brightening and so pigmented for the price, as you can see, I've already hit pan!
Moving on to this beautiful Shimmer Brick by Seventeen, I actually did a full review on this product recently. The shades in this little palette are so stunning and I've been really enjoying this to give my skin that beautiful dewy glow, as well as using the shades as eyeshadows, swirled together it makes the perfect everyday eye look. You can also grab this shimmer brick in a more bronze shade which is pretty similar to by Bobbi Brown shimmer brick, but it is equally as beautiful as this rose shade!

Lastly are two products by Benefit, a brand I have a bit of a love hate relationship with. Firstly I borrowed my Mums Porefessional Primer because I wanted to try something under my eyes to stop my concealer creasing and settling into the fine lines. I've really noticed a difference since using this around the eye area so I'm really enjoying it at the moment, I'd definitely recommend it if you do have larger pores or fine lines you want to fill to allow your makeup to apply more evenly. Finally its the oh so lovely and new Roller Lash, this is just a sample size I received in the March edition of Elle magazine but this mascara is really great. I have very straight, stubborn lashes that require waterproof mascara to look half decent but this little bad boy is some serious good stuff. I love how this separates every little lash and you can go from a very natural fluttery look to a more volumised look with just a couple of coats.

If you'd like to hear more about these particular products you can head over to my YouTube channel to watch my February Favourites video, by clicking here!

Save or Splurge? Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler

Shu Ueumera is a brand that I didn't even know existed until I started reading blogs and watching YouTube, it quickly became clear that the brand is extremely popular and famous for a certain makeup tool of theirs. I'm a big fan of lashes, for me, a day with makeup means I have to wear mascara, it pulls everything together and I just couldn't imagine my makeup routine without it.

I naturally have very straight hair, I still choose to straighten it but I could get away with not doing so. Having straight hair means I also have poker straight eyelashes, that actually require heated eyelash curlers to make any difference whatsoever. I can hold eyelash curlers on for minutes, for my lashes to simply bounce back to utter straightness, trust me it sucks!

Over the years I have purchased far too many pairs of eyelash curlers, ranging from £1.00 to £10.00 and from several different brands, all of which I've never been 100% happy with. I have quite large round eyes which makes finding a pair of curlers to fit quite the task, they all seem to be suited to a particular eye shape that I do not have! Anyway, a few weeks ago I was shopping in London and I decided to splurge on a set of the oh so famous Shu Uemura Eyelash Curlers £20.00, believe me it took a lot of convincing to actually make me spend that on some lash curlers that looked incredibly similar to ones I'd paid £1.00 for.

L'Oreal Lumi Magique Concealer Review

Finding the perfect concealer really is quite the task, especially when you're someone like me who has dry skin but likes high coverage under the eyes. I'm a pretty pale skinned girl so finding a concealer from the drugstore that works for my skin tone is also a pretty big challenge, most seem to be either too yellow/pink toned or far too dark. I've tried the L'Oreal Lumi Magique primer which I really like so I thought I would pick up the highlighter pen from the same range, to give it a go. Before we go into more detail, can we all just admire the packaging of this, how beautiful can it get?!

More MAC Paint Pots

MAC is a brand that although I spend a lot of time browsing the stores, I actually very rarely make a purchase, the main reason being that I'm never really sure what to buy and also, it's more expensive than Boots and Superdrug! Over the last year I promised myself I would try more products by the brand, in particular I wanted to make my own eyeshadow palette and try more skincare products.

Today I popped to a town around 45 minutes away from home, mainly because I wanted to head to the Cosmetic Company Store which is an amazing shop that sells discounted makeup from MAC, Smashbox to Estee Lauder and Clinique. The savings on the products range depending on the brand, most of the MAC products are discounted by the minimum of £5.00.

I was pretty surprised that the store was very well stocked especially in the MAC Paint Pot department, usually when paying a visit the only shades available are silver, green or blue! Now there were a few not so nice shades left on the shelves but there were three beautiful neutral shades I had to get my hands on, I really couldn't believe they had these shades. I love the Paint Pots by MAC, they make amazing eyeshadow bases or just everyday colours to wear as a quick makeup fix. These retail at £15.50 at the counter but in this store cost just £10.00 each.

Drugstore Beauty Haul

Over the past couple of weeks I've done a little bit of damage in Boots and Superdrug, which is okay because I'm totally in love with everything, but not so great for my bank account! I've had quite a few drugstore products on my wish list and it was definitely time to cave and pick them up, there have also been a couple of new releases that I was so eager to get my hands on. I feel like there are so many amazing new products on the market and brands just keep on bringing out new ideas that I cannot resist, especially Makeup Revolution who just make me want to spend all of my wages on their website, literally. Anyhow, I did make a few different trips to my local drugstores, and did a couple of orders online, therefore these purchases were spread out over a couple of weeks.

Ruby Rich by MeMeMe

I do love my pinky makeup looks when it comes to Valentines, but there is something so classy and elegant about the colour red, the colour of love! I tend to avoid red lips on a day to day basis, just because firstly I'm not sure it's that appropriate for work and also I feel like pinks suit me so much better. I do however have a ton of beautiful red lipsticks in my collection that I love and will wear on more special occasions or over the weekends.

My choice of red lip this Valentines is going to be this little beauty from the brand MeMeMe, so far I am loving their Long Wear Satin Lip Cream* in the shade 06 Ruby Rich, this is the perfect name! The name reminds me a little of Russian Red by MAC, and the shade is quite similar too. Ruby Rich is a beautiful, blue toned absolute red, it is the perfect Valentines shade and I feel like it actually suits me, which makes a huge difference.

NEW IN: Maybelline Colour Tattoo 'Chocolate Suede'

When I heard that Maybelline were releasing new shades to their Colour Tattoo line I got a little excited, I am obsessed with these cream shadows and pretty much have every shade in my collection - apart from that bright turquoise! I'm pretty sure this shade has been available in the US for some time but it has just landed in UK Superdrug stores, I managed to grab the last one whilst shopping a week or so ago, lucky right! Chocolate Suede is one of the Leather Effect tattoos which goes alongside shades Creamy Beige and Vintage Plum.

Seventeen Instant Glow Shimmer Brick | Review & Swatches

My Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick is one of my favourite makeup items, its gorgeous and is totally worth the splurge but, there are some amazing dupes out there. I spotted the Seventeen Instant Glow Shimmer Brick in Boots whilst the buy one get one half price offer was on, so it felt like a good time to give the product a go. The shimmer brick is available in two shades,  'gold bronze' and 'pink bronze' which are both very similar to the two shades available from Bobbi Brown. Because I have the bronze Bobbi Brown shimmer brick I thought I'd give the pink shade a go from Seventeen, the shades looked beautiful on the website and after looking at other pictures on Google, I definitely had my heart set on this shade.

January Favourites 2015

It's time to announce my first monthly favourites of 2015! I feel like my January actually went pretty slow, which makes a change, I don't always post a monthly favourites but this month I had a few bits and bobs that need to be shared. Most of the items I've picked this month were actually gifts at Christmas, which makes sense I guess, so you may have seen these products mentioned by me already in my What I got for Christmas post. Anyhow, if you're interested in seeing these products talked about in more detail just carry on reading!
