Rimmel Insta Collection First Impressions

When it comes to high street makeup brands, Rimmel are one of the best when it comes to new product releases and ranges, their new Insta collection is definitely not a disappointment. Since the release of the Fix & Go setting spray they have launched even more products into the range including contour sticks, colour correcting palettes and more. I've been trying these new products for the past week now and wanted to give you a little first insight into my first thoughts so if you'd like to fid out more, keep reading!

Rimmel Insta Conceal & Contour Palette - £5.99
This palette consists of three cream products designed to highlight, conceal and contour. There are three shades available in this palette so it is very well suited to all skin tones, I opt for the shade light for concealing and shade medium for contouring. I usually find a lot of high street concealers are still too dark for my pale complexion however I was pleasantly surprised that this one suits me very well. I used the highlight shade under my eyes and on any areas of my face that I wanted to brighten, it did a really good job at covering my dark circles and making my complexion look more awake. I then used the conceal shade to cover any blemishes, redness and also around my eyes where they appear a little red, it did a fab job at covering and evening out my skin tone. Finally I used the contour shade to add warmth to my skin around the edges of my face. Each shade is incredibly creamy and easy to apply which is great as sometimes cream products can be a little scary.

Rimmel Insta Conceal & Correct Palette - £6.50
In similar style to the previous palettes, this palette also contains three shades in the colours orange, green and purple. Each shade in this palette has a specific colour correction technique, orange for dark circles, green for redness and purple for dullness. I've only tried the orange and green shades so far and they have been really nice, the green shade in particular did a really good job at covering redness and allowing my further products to go on smoothly and evenly. The shades are of the same consistency of the previous palette, very creamy and easy to blend into the skin. I've never really tried colour correcting in the past so it's been really exciting to try and experiment with a totally new product.

Rimmel Insta Fix & Go Setting Spray - £6.99
As a lover of setting spray and in particular the Urban Decay range, I was really excited to start using this new addition from Rimmel and I hoped for good results. This setting spray has worked wonders for my skin, my makeup stays in place exactly as it would when using a high end brand and it will set you back a fraction of the price. As the weather in the UK has been a lot warmer than usual over the past couple of weeks, this product has been a life saver for me and has been something I've kept in my handbag most days. I like to apply the setting spray once I've finished my makeup in the morning and then I use it throughout the day to freshen up my look and keep my skin looking and feeling hydrated.

Rimmel Insta Fix & Matte Powder - £4.99
When it comes to my base I usually opt for my Bare Minerals therefore I don't use regular powders on a daily basis, this is therefore a product I am yet to try from this range. In the past I have used the Stay Matte powder from Rimmel and it was really amazing stuff so I expect the same results from this one, it's also a very nice affordable price and has super cute packaging!

Rimmel Insta Duo Contour Stick - £6.99
I think these are my favourite product out of the bunch as I just love contouring and highlighting. Available in three shades, the Duo Contour Stick is a highlighter on one end and a cream contour on the other. The light and medium shades are both well suited to my complexion, I find the light shade to be a very nice tone for a contour product. I really enjoy using cream products so these fit into my makeup bag like a dream, the texture is lovely making them super easy to apply and achieve your desired look. As well as the contour shades being lovely, the highlighters are simply stunning, each shade has a warm champagne undertone which looks so beautiful when the light catches it. I sometimes find cream highlighters can look a little heavy when applied over other products but these didn't appear to do this on my skin, they just sit very nicely and look extremely pretty.

So far I am really enjoying the new Rimmel Insta Collection and I can't wait to carry on trying the products and get round to trying the Fix & Matte Powder, I am sure it will not disappoint!
